storyboard idea

Using Frame forge 3D studio 2 we created a storyboard to give us an generalist idea of the sort of thing we wanted our music video to turn out to be like. From the visuals you can gather the idea we are going for. With the gold lights in the background of our inside shoot and forest for the outside(narrative) shoots. .examples of test shoots & photoshop experiments/
This is an example of our photoshop trial. At first the blazer was grey but we decided that having the blazer black makes it stand out more with the cream of my top and the gold in the background. So we changed it using the colour tools in photoshop. It makes a big difference and we did the same with the CD cover also. This is a tester we used before we started filming when we thought we would use green screen. We used a friend to help us out. We stood him in front of the green screen and filmed various footage. We logged and captured it into the computer. Picked an image that we would want in the background (being the out of focus lights) and put it as the backdrop is space of the green screen. It worked rather well but was a complicated process so we ended up going for the more simple option hanging the lights behind us instead.

Crew Roles

Ben and I had the complication of only being in a group of just us two. So we had the challenge to share out the roles and made sure we kept to our roles because there was no one else to pick up the slack. Most roles were shared out between the two of us as we were working together at all times.

list of locations, props and costumes
This is my studio outfit a topshop flowing lace cream top and black skirt. With an Metropark USA silver necklace and red ring. The accesories are the only thing not following the colour scheme, just to give it a small quirky difference.
Ben is wearing an Allsaints blazer and a 'french kissing' t-shirt. With Topman jeans and Allsaints bracelets. Once again minamal accesories just to give the outfit a pop. More sophistication and simplicity.
The outside costumes were much different to the inside shoot. Ben and I both have different styled hair and the outfits are a lot more relaxed. As this part was the narrative we decided to make it more 'street wise' when it came to the outfits, things that anyone could wear down the street, for relatabilty. It's more casual but with a classy edge. Bens faux studded leather jacket and Allsaints scarf and t-shirt from LONG. Myself with a topshop coat/blazer and skirt and blouse from ASOS.
We had minamal amount of props not many were needed for our narrative. The camera is a very important aspect of our video. It represents being followed and judged from the outside world. At one point it is faded into the studio shot to show the relation of the charecter being watched.
The box also has important relevance of the video. After being chased through the forest, the box I find represents purity and enlightenment in a sense. Finding a place you can feel safe in and un-judged. Which relates to the lyrics 'shining when i'm alone'These are a few shots of the outside location that we filmed at. It has a very warm autumn like feel to it. We tried to go as deep into the trees as we could making it a seem more frightening for me when i'm being chased . But doing it during the day also gives the portayl of every day life. Wanting to escape the day to day struggles.
